Most of our workshops can be run successfully using social distancing.
With its bold shapes, vivid colour and dramatic movement, Shadow Puppetry is a highly engaging art form exploration in early childhood educational settings. Primary Workshops for Schools will work with you to ensure your chosen subject is portrayed to maximise the learning opportunity provided.
Our Shadow Puppetry workshop includes an introduction and background to puppetry, the different types of puppets as well as an explanation on how it all works including an understanding of light sources, reflection and shadow. We create shadow puppets with the children and can create a show, theatre and scenery.
Our Shadow Puppet workshops can be used to enhance your existing teaching program or add to your International Day, Arts week, Healthy Eating week, Cultural weeks (African, Indian or Chinese), Book week or Anti-bullying week.
Up to 6 sessions
During a typical day-long workshop, we start the day with an assembly and then work with up to 30 children in a session, and delivering 4 sessions, stretching to 6 if required. The workshop can then end with a performance from the children during which they can showcase their newly created puppets.
